I feel like I’ve decorated so many bedrooms in the last three years and then we turn around and move to another house, another city. When we got to this home in South Carolina, I had no motivation to decorate anything. I kind of still don’t to be honest. Maybe I’m a little burnt out on decorating and I also feel like I can’t decide on things easily now.

I’ve said this before, but this time around I’ve wanted to really put some thought into what we do with this house decor wise. I don’t want to just impulse buy a bunch a cheap things, but instead really invest in some quality, timeless pieces in our main living areas.
At our previous house in Vegas, the girls shared a fairly small room, so we didn’t need much for their room other than their beds. We even got them beds that have pull out dressers underneath so that we wouldn’t crowd their room with more dressers. It worked out great while we were there. Once we moved to our current home in South Carolina, the girls each got their own room and their rooms are much bigger here. Since we didn’t have much furniture for them from the last house, their rooms here have been looking pretty sad for about six months. We barely had anything to hang out the walls, so they were pretty bare until we worked on this project. I have been dreading picking out things because we either needed really big items for the walls or a bunch of little things. This DIY idea helped take up so much space in both of the girls’ rooms and it just feels more complete and fun in their rooms now.

There really isn’t much to this project. All you need is washi tape, which I found at Hobby Lobby. I bought the rainbow pack when it was half off, so the pack I used to do both of their rooms only cost me ten bucks! I originally saw this idea on my friend’s page, @lifeindeetail. She made her sprinkles a little shorter than I did, which looks awesome. I think I was intimidated with how many sprinkles it was going to take to cover these walls, so I cut them a little longer. The only other tip I have to share is to cut a few shorter and at an angle so that you can put them on the corners, ceiling and floor on the wall. It just makes it look a little more complete. I love it! We added a few other art and decor pieces that the girls picked out and I no longer feel like the world’s worst mom putting my kids in plain undecorated rooms.
