When we lived in Las Vegas, it rarely rained. We went out to run errands or head to the park almost every single day without worrying about the weather. South Carolina is a little different..
Y’all, it raaains here. I love a good thunderstorm, but this weather does take some getting used to, especially coming from the desert. We’ve been here for about two months and we’ve already had our fair share of rainy days. To be honest, I’m more of a homebody anyway, but there are rainy mornings when the kids are running at 150% and I’m thinking, “Oh man, how am I going to keep these kids entertained today?”
I keep an entire dresser full of coloring books, workbooks, playdoh, construction paper, stickers, glue… all the craft things for the kids. Sometimes we need a little more than that, though. One of the best things about being a parent is creating a magical and fun childhood for your kids. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen the scavenger hunt we did on Easter morning. My parents always did that for me growing up, so I love to keep traditions like that alive. Amazing memories, plus it’s fun for everyone.
So when I’m looking for something to do with the kids on rainy days, here’s what comes to mind when coloring and play-doh just aren’t cutting it.
