We had such an amazing weekend! Saturday was the best day in Savannah, GA and I’m so grateful to live close to such beautiful cities. We took all three kids with us this weekend, and it was actually a lot easier than I expected.

Before we left for this day trip, I had done some research to find out which places were kid friendly. I found quite a few restaurants that are great options for families with children, and I’ll list all of those recommendations at the end of this post. Throughout this post, I will highlight our day and everything it entailed.
Where We Ate
Little Duck Diner

This was one of the most recommended places to eat for families with kids. I actually narrowed it down based on photos of the inside. It had enough room for highchairs and of course, the cute little rubber duckies on the drinks got me. The menu was amazing and the drinks were as cute and yummy as they looked online. Our waiter even brought out an extra rubber duck for Connor to play with after we ordered our food. The wait wasn’t long at all despite how busy they were. It was a Saturday at noon and they were fast, accommodating and super friendly.
Chris and I each ordered a Bloody Mary and Mimosas – they were delicious! I got a Crab Cake Burger and Chris got BBQ Duck, and both were really good and filling. For the kids, we ordered two classic grilled cheeses to split between the three of them. These were huge, so it worked out great that they all could share them. Lunch was amazing and omce everyone was full, it was time to do some walking.

We stopped to grab some of the famous Peach Sangria at Cafe At City Market, but the line was so long, so we settled for cookies from Byrd’s instead. Bonus, we are still enjoying the huge bag of cookies long past the weekend.

River Walk
We walked all over after that, snacking on mini cookies and enjoying the weather. When we arrived in Savannah, the weather was a tiny bit chilly, but once we were done with lunch, it had warmed up quite a bit. We stopped at all of the parks and memorials and the kids played in the lawn at the city market. In the park, there was a sweet, older man playing his guitar and in another park, someone playing the violin. There was a live band you could enjoy listening to all throughout the city market. It was such a good time and good vibes all day. Everyone was really friendly and the views of this city are just amazing. We walked all the way to the highly recommenced Leopold’s for ice cream, but the line was out the door and down the sidewalk. I’m sure it would have been amazing, but we didn’t want to let the waiting eat up a chunk of our day, so we had ice cream in the city market instead. We will head back on a weekday and hopefully get our hands on that Peach Sangria and Leopold’s ice cream. Here is a little photo dump below of our afternoon..

Forsyth Park
This park was on my list to stop at before we headed out of the city for the day, and I’m so glad we did. It is as beautiful as the photos. On the grass there were people laying out on blankets, having picnics and relaxing in hammocks between trees. There were two big playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, a cafe and an amphitheater. The main attraction of this park is probably the fountain, which is 150 years old! There were a few wedding parties and photographers around the fountain when we were there. It’s definitely worth stopping at, and if you have time to hang out for a little while, bring a blanket to sit on and relax! Forsyth Park is only a mile from Savannah City Market.

Tybee Island
When I was looking up things to do in Savannah, I saw where most people mentioned that it was totally worth the short twenty minute drive to visit Tybee Island, so we did! Tybee Island is super cute. The girls were so excited to get their toes back in the sand and this was a special day, because it was Connor’s first time at the beach. He loved it and as for the girls, we basically had to pry them out of the sand, haha! We haven’t been to the beach in so long since we’ve lived in Las Vegas over a year. The girls will be excited to find out we’ll be at the beach all summer this year.

After we got the girls out of the sand and our shoes back on, we walked around and checked out the local beach shops. This was the last stop of the day and by this time, it was about 5pm, so we did one more last bathroom stop and hit the road. I cannot wait to get back to Savannah, but I think our next day trip will be to another favorite city, Charleston, in a few weeks. So stay tuned!
