Two homes ago (lol), we had a really nice mudroom that was located just inside the house from the garage, before you got to the kitchen. I loved it! My husband and I gave that room a makeover, which was one of my first blog posts here. He built a really cool hall tree using an Ikea hack. It turned out awesome and looked custom built.

The house we are currently in does not have a designated room like that, so we had to come up with a different idea when we decided we wanted another hall tree. We decided to build it just inside our front door, in the foyer. My husband totally winged it this time, so there were no “plans” to build from. This hall tree isn’t as custom looking as our first, but I really like the simplicity of it, especially since we didn’t have an entire room to build in this time. I’m going to share some photos of it below. Leave a comment below if you have any questions and I’ll be sure to get them answered.
**The “back” of this hall tree is just the wall of our foyer. My husband framed it out with wood and we just painted it all the same color. Saves on material, space and time!
