SPRINGS PRESERVE PARK
An old friend from high school saw that we were in Vegas and suggested we visit the Springs Reserve Park. She said it was a really great place for the whole family to enjoy. I didn’t have crazy expectations for this park since Google maps showed that it was located in the middle of the city, but we were pleasantly surprised!
Give me a garden of cactuses cacti (?) and I’m a happy girl. This park had plenty of that and much more. We walked through a butterfly garden, they had a play area with different animals all throughout and there was an amazing little cafe we had lunch at. The lobster rolls were so good! The cafe was a few stories high, so it had an amazing view of Las Vegas.
I was so surprised at how peaceful the park was. There were birds and hummingbirds everywhere and it was so quiet. It was a really nice break from the city life. We will definitely be hanging out there often.
TULA FREE-TO-GROW CARRIER
Now that our sweet boy is finally here and we’ve been going on lots of adventures lately, I’ve been able to use my Tula FTG carrier a ton. I loved my standard Tula that I used with my last baby so much and I was excited to try out the new free-to-grow carrier this time.
I’m not going to lie — I felt a little extra walking around a park with a million cacti while wearing a baby carrier with cacti all over it. In my defense, I picked this carrier out when I was pregnant with Connor and had no idea I’d ever move to the desert. Now I look super festive and touristy everywhere I go.
Anyway, this carrier has been amazing! It’s so, so nice that it fits newborns (7 lbs and up). My big man weighed over 9 lbs, so there wasn’t any question about him fitting in it right away. The standard Tula requires an infant insert that wraps around the baby’s body and fits inside the carrier. It was fine, but got a little hot during warmer months and also was just an extra something to keep up with. There were a few times I thought I had lost mine because keeping up with things these days is a struggle.
The Free-To-Grow carrier is completely adjustable to fit new little squishes all the way up to toddlers. It has width and height settings to fit your baby’s size. I’ve linked a video here for a more in depth view of how it works. I’ve been loving this carrier so much and so excited that I get to baby wear Connor for quite a while.
